錾刻铜件与皮革结合的要点是"软硬过渡"：0.8 mm 黄铜錾花片四角冲 φ1.5 mm 铆孔，背面锉出 0.2 mm 沉台，再以铜铆钉铆入 3.5 mm 植鞣革；皮革预打孔比铆钉径小 0.3 mm 以获得握持力，避免松动。錾花片边缘必须倒角 R0.5 以上并抛光，防止磨伤皮革；成品每季度给皮面涂一次貂油、铜面补微晶蜡，接缝处积垢用软毛刷蘸弱碱皂水清理。
Joining chased metal to leather is about managing the soft-hard transition: punch φ1.5 mm rivet holes at the corners of a 0.8 mm brass ornament, countersink the back 0.2 mm, then rivet into 3.5 mm vegetable-tanned leather; punch the leather 0.3 mm undersize so the rivet grips. Bead and polish every ornament edge to R0.5 or better so it cannot abrade the hide. Feed the leather neatsfoot oil quarterly, re-wax the copper, and clean the seam with a soft brush and mild soap.
