Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp (KOMSCO, founded Daejeon 1951) strikes national commemorative medals and Olympic medals alongside circulation coinage—the 1988 Seoul Olympic medals came off its presses. Hallmarks are high-precision blanks (diameter ±0.02 mm) and mirror-ready surfaces: blanks belt-sanded, bowl-polished and vacuum-annealed, then double-struck on 300–500 t presses. Its small-lot custom medal scheme gives Asian coining studios a benchmark for production accuracy and QC.
