Frederick Buechner's bronze lighting collections have long been produced with art foundries in New York: the designer supplies 1:1 models and drawings, the foundry replicates them in RTV silicone with injected wax, builds a 6–7 coat ceramic shell, and pours silicon bronze (4–5% Si, polishable as-cast, no heat treatment). Arms are held to 3–4 mm wall, bead-blasted at 120 mesh, hand-finished, and patinated to a uniform dark brown with potassium polysulfide. Limited editions run 12–30 pieces with tooling amortized into the first batch. ---
