Independent studios in Stockholm and Sydney favor forging for limited brass editions (candlesticks, door pulls, trays): H62 brass bar is hot-forged at 850–870°C in 3–4 heats, straightened and texture-closed by cold forging, then annealed and pickled (10% vol. sulfuric acid, 60°C) to restore color. Editions of 20–50 keep the hammer marks as an unrepeatable handmade signature, priced 3–5× machined equivalents. Continuous grain flow along the form gives forged pieces better strength and feel than machined parts — the core of the premium. ---
