A roller-making method that ablates the pattern directly into the roller surface with a fibre or CO₂ laser; minimum feature about 0.05 mm and depth up to 0.5 mm. It allows fast pattern revisions without CNC tooling, ideal for sampling and short runs; production rollers are still CNC-milled and hardened, since laser-cut surfaces offer lower hardness and life. ---
