Core tools: ①repoussé punches (round/egg, various curves) ②liners (wedge, for lines) ③flatters ④background punches (matting) ⑤wooden mallet (not steel — less damage/noise). Make your own: high-carbon rod, grind the head, harden/temper to HRC 55–60, bevel the top to avoid chipping. Use a pitch/rosin stake (see 03) to support the work. ---
