鎏金最大危害是汞蒸气（常温下即挥发），长期吸入致慢性汞中毒（震颤、肾损、神经损害）。必须在负压通风柜操作，戴防毒面具（汞专用滤毒罐）、耐酸手套，作业区备硫磺粉（泄漏铺撒固定汞）。废汞、含汞棉布与金汞齐残渣一律密封交危废处理，严禁倒入水槽或普通垃圾。
The prime hazard in fire gilding is mercury vapor (volatile even at room temperature); chronic inhalation causes mercury poisoning (tremor, kidney and nerve damage). Work only in negative-pressure extraction with a mercury-rated respirator and acid gloves; keep sulfur powder on hand to fix spills. All waste mercury, mercury-soiled cloth and amalgam residue go sealed to hazardous disposal—never down a sink or bin. ---
