Amortise mandrels as tooling cost ÷ expected lifetime volume. Aluminium chucks (6061) run ¥1,500–3,000 and last 2,000–5,000 parts — a 100-piece order would add ¥15–30 each, so quote the mandrel as a separate line with free amortisation on reorders. Wood chucks cost ~¥500 but survive only 200–500 pieces, ideal for first articles. Lead-time anchors: 3 days blank stock (safety stock of 0.8/1.0/1.2 mm copper discs), 5 days to first article, 300 pieces/week/machine.
