Sweden's Skultuna brass works, founded in 1607, is among the world's oldest metal workshops still running: its hand-raised vessels are closed with light planishing—soft blows, dense ~65% overlap, two passes radial then circumferential—to hold wall variation under 0.1 mm. Nordic taste wants a satin, not a mirror: soapstone and rapeseed oil progressively press the marks into a misted texture. Stockholm's Konstfack still teaches this "dense-then-burnish" planishing order as a foundation module.
