Fire-gilt Bronze Combined with Stone Sculpture

Contemporary monumental sculpture anchors fire-gilt bronze elements—hands, faces, bands—into granite or marble: cast-in ribs or stainless threaded studs on the bronze reverse, epoxy-set into cut stone slots, joints injected with color-matched adhesive and given a 2 mm shadow gap. All gilding is finished before assembly—no pickling or hammering afterward; anchor zones get hydrophobic treatment against rust staining. A Milan cathedral door (2019) pairing gilt bronze with Carrara marble used this method and remains unmarked after five years.
