Etched copper meets wood and leather across today's craft market: wood inlays rout a 0.4 mm recess, epoxy, and seat the plate flush; leather patches use 0.3 mm copper riveted or wax-threaded at the corners, etched 0.2 mm deep for tactility. Journal covers, guitar headplates and cigarette cases all run this. Dongguan suppliers start at 100 pieces, ¥3–8 each; studio custom runs ¥30–80. Leather-specific care: neutralise residual acid completely—soak 10 min in 5% sodium bicarbonate, rinse and dry—or the leather discolours and embrittles within months.
