Cold enamel (two-part epoxy colour) is now the default for coined medals: tape off the relief, syringe colour into the recesses, tease out bubbles with a toothpick and cure 2 h at 50 °C. Sand level across the relief with 600 grit to reveal the metal highlights, then polish. Mix colours like printing inks—but copper shows through, so lay a white base dot in dark zones. At 0.1–0.3 g per medal it suits multi-colour runs under 1 000 pieces, replacing 800 °C fired champlevé with almost no equipment barrier.
